Reflection
I stumbled upon the Global Medallion Program by accident when I first joined Florida International University. The program offered opportunities that appealed to me, which is why I decided to join. The journey I have taken as a global learner was one I did not expect to take when joining the program. The activities and opportunities I was able to find were crucial to my development. As a global learner, I have been able to join events and meet people who have informed me about all the things ongoing within our international community.

Opportunities are hard to come by for students since no one shows you a map of how to find them. The Global Medallion Program serves as that helping hand to students who want to learn and do more. It encourages students to question everything and strive to make a change while doing so. The program is organized in a way that gives students the leeway to choose the things they want to join, from the events to the courses. It provides a variety of choices to choose from in order for the student to discover the many things that pique their interest and that they would eventually like to pursue.

Over the past year, I have learned more about the world and myself than ever before. By taking courses and joining events on topics like climate change, gender equality, and genocide, I have been able to map out the work I want to pursue and the change I will one day make. All this wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the opportunities presented to me by the Global Medallion Program. Sometimes we stumble upon things that can guide us down roads we never knew existed.
